With so much emphasis on video content these days, you would be mad not to jump on the train as it sails past the station. Despite its popularity, we know that finding the time needed to do it well can be tough to find.
Creating, producing and editing your own video content sometimes requires serious dedication. That said, here at Team Organic we have front-row seats for the benefits of video content. Looking for a quick-start social media video creator, we decided to try out Ripl.
What is Ripl?
Ripl prides itself on giving its customers the ability to ‘create eye-catching social media videos’. It comes ready-loaded with customisable designs that can be created in minutes. Also handy is the sharing capability, directly to a number of platforms and with the ability to track your engagement.
Video content templates
Ripl is all about templates, which is how they are able to promote the ability to make social media footage in minutes. I found the templates helpful as I didn’t have time to spend too long making videos. Each template is completely customisable so you can add your own images or motion, add text and move things around. The selection of templates is diverse and provides examples of the types of posts you can generate using the software.
Customisable features
There are a good list of fonts and colours to choose from and you can alter the size of the text with just a pinch of your fingers. You can even add music from the pre-loaded tracks that come with the app.
Ripl also provides ‘Daily Inspiration’. It gives you a topic such as ‘Question’ and then gives you three templates you can use to frame your own question and add your own background if you wish.
The scheduling tool allows you to post your video straight to your social media platform or to download it onto your device. You can also delete your post through Ripl if you need to.
Our conclusion?
The good news is that Ripl have tutorials to help you along your way if you get stuck. I didn’t need them, feeling that the app was easy to use and experiment with.
I did find that Ripl was sometimes a little restrictive. You have to use their templates, which means there were occasions where I felt I couldn’t use the app the way I would have liked to.
Overall this is a good piece of kit if you want to make quick and simple social media videos. If you are looking for something a bit more complicated, you’re best looking elsewhere.
