When we’re not in work helping clients build their website traffic with our expert SEO advice, we do enjoy a jolly good television binge watch. Here are some of this month’s team favourites.
RuPaul’s Drag Race
Donna – Social Media Manager
The reality TV show is searching for America’s next drag superstar. Hosted by the ferociously glamorous RuPaul, expect hilarious bitchiness, dramatic eye makeup, and some seriously sequined dresses. Contenders perform a series of tasks to decide who goes through to the next round, and who must “sashay away”.
Afterlife
Phil – Digital Account Manager
This six-part series is the latest offering from Ricky Gervais (The Office, Derek). The story follows Tony, a journalist for a local free newspaper, after his wife dies. The videos she saves to his laptop are a beyond-the-grave reminder to carry on living his life, despite the depression that overwhelms him. It handles an emotive subject with lashings of tact and sensitivity, and some genuinely hilarious outbursts.
The Punisher
Lizzy – Content Creator
Frank Castle (played by Jon Bernthal, The Walking Dead, Daredevil, The Wolf of Wall Street) is uber badass vigilante ‘The Punisher’ who goes on a crime-fighting rampage to avenge the murder of his family. Based on the Marvel comics, it tells the story of an essentially decent man intent on the removal of bad guys (permanently). Violent outbursts are well executed, and with decent dialogue to support everything.
Derry Girls
Sean – Sales Executive
Witty and sarcastic, Derry Girls shows everyday life of 16 year old Erin and her family and friends, during the Troubles of the early 90s. The core characters gel together well to deliver a funny take on the usual trials of growing up, against a backdrop of checkpoints and armed guards.
Doomsday Preppers
Karl – SEO Manager
Reality TV show following the Americans worried enough about the end of the world to start preparing for it. Highly addictive viewing of people who probably seem ridiculous now, but will hopefully take us in when society falls.
