Hype Growth state on their website “Stop buying followers. Engage with them.” But, what exactly do they mean by engage? We set Phil (Digital Account Manager) and Donna (Social Media Manager) the task of testing this Twitter automation tool using the 5-day free trial.
How did you find the setup phase of Hype Growth?
Donna: “The setup process was easy to use and has an accessible dashboard.”
Phil: “Setting up was pretty painless, integration into my Twitter account was easy, as was selecting keywords”
What do you feel are the positives of the service?
Donna: “If you just want to improve your follower count then this will work for you.”
Phil: “Easy setup and clean user interface”
What would you say are the negatives?
Donna: “During the five-day trial my followers ranged from what I believe to be bots or other automated services. The engagement I received focused on the two most recent retweets, which indicated to me that, the ‘followers’ were not actually interested in my account, it seemed to be automaton communicating with automaton.”
Phil: “I found myself keeping an eye on what accounts are being followed and unfollowing and unliking inappropriate accounts and tweets.”
How would you rate the quality of the accounts Hype Growth followed and tweets it liked?
Donna: “The accounts that followed me seemed to be automatons themselves and there was no genuine engagement between myself or anyone else.”
Phil: “The overall selection of accounts followed and tweets liked has been baffling. From Korean and Russian non-English speaking accounts to unrelated bloggers and cosplay artists”
Would you recommend Hype Growth to your clients?
Donna: “No, I don’t think that this software has been fine-tuned enough to create genuine interaction.”
Phil: “No, I feel more quality engagement and growth can be gained via other strategies”
Do you feel there’s a place in social media for automation tools like Hype Growth?
Donna: “I would like to see how automaton develops in the future and I do believe that there could be a place for it.”
Phil: “To a certain extent yes I think so but automation also comes with certain risks. If you’re looking to run a clean, ethical Twitter account then I’d avoid most automation except for maybe an RSS feed from your business website blog etc.”
What would make you use Hype Growth again?
Donna: “They need to create a more authentic experience for their users. They need to find a way to divide the bots from the people.”
Phil: “An integrated tutorial for new users would be great. I feel we may have missed features or further settings that may have improved our experience and results. “
